Barcelona Will Explore The Possibility Of Selling Ansu Fati In The Summer

In his recent stream, Gerard Romero has offered a series of updates on the future of several Barcelona stars, notably claiming that Sergio Busquets may extend his contract at Barça if the club manages to seal the return of Lionel Messi.

In another such claim, Romero believes Barcelona will also explore the possibility of selling Ansu Fati in the coming summer. It could be a part of the club’s plan to reduce the salary mass, in an attempt to adhere to the Financial Fair Play regulations.

Barcelona have recently sent their feasibility plan to La Liga, hoping for a response by early May. The plan states the club’s intention to generate fresh revenue and reduce the cost of the workforce, primarily by sanctioning the sale of multiple star players.

The Catalans are reportedly in advanced talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the sale of Clement Lenglet. Samuel Umtiti and Sergino Dest will be allowed to depart as well, while Franck Kessie has been linked with a move to Inter Milan once again.

The talks of Fati’s potential exit, therefore, are hardly surprising. The Spanish prodigy has failed to live up to the expectations this season and has never been the same since his injury. He has struggled to garner regular minutes, even falling behind the likes of Ferran Torres and Raphinha in the pecking order.

The primary reason Barcelona may strongly consider an exit for Fati is his high market value. Despite his recent struggles, the Spaniard is regarded as one of the best young talents in world football, with limitless potential.

For this reason, Fati may easily fetch a fortune, which in turn, may allow Barcelona to generate the revenue they require in order to make a move for other players in the market.

However, Fati is not the only attacker running the risk of facing the axe in the coming summer, with Barça also considering the sale of Ferran Torres, amid links with Atletico Madrid.
