Bayern Munich President Blames Xavi Of ‘Flirting’ With Kimmich

  • Bayern President Accuses Barcelona Coach Xavi Of “Flirting” With Kimmich

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has accused Barcelona coach Xavi of “flirting” with Joshua Kimmich.

Kimmich has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for the reigning LaLiga champions as they aim to reinforce midfield options.

But coach Xavi recently hailing the Germany international as a “super top player” drew a forthright response from the Allianz Arena’s hierarchy.

“First of all, Xavi was an excellent player and I have big respect for Barcelona,” Hainer told Sky Germany.

“But I don’t understand why they’re openly and offensively ‘flirting’ with our player.

“Joshua Kimmich is an absolute cornerstone for us.

“Joshua is a leader, has won many titles with us and will also continue to win titles with us in the future. He’s firmly in our plans for the future and one of the players to build the team around.”

Kimmich has two years remaining on his current deal with Bayern, where he has won the Champions League and eight Bundesliga titles.
