Four Barcelona Players At The Risk Of Missing Valencia Clash Due To Suspension

Barcelona will lock horns with relegation battlers UD Almeria at the Power Horse Stadium later tonight. Following their defeat to Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League, Xavi Hernandez & co. will aim to bounce back strongly.

With Real Madrid dropping points against Atletico Madrid last night, the Blaugrana have an excellent chance to open up a ten-point lead at the top of the table.

Given Almeria’s struggles upon earning promotion to La Liga, Barça go into the game as favourites.

However, things will only get tricky for Xavi’s men from hereon as they face Real Madrid next in the Copa del Rey semi-finals before taking on the likes of Valencia and Athletic Club in the league before another Clasico vs Real, this time in La Liga.

With Pedri already out injured for the upcoming few matches, Barcelona will need all their players for the upcoming matches.

However, heading into the match against Almeria, as many as four Barça stars are on four yellow cards and are at the risk of getting suspended for the next game versus Valencia if they are booked again tonight.

The four players in question are captain Sergio Busquets, his fellow midfielders Gavi and Franck Kessie and forward Ferran Torres.

As iterated earlier, Barcelona are already without Pedri against Valencia. And losing any of Gavi, Kessie or Busquets due to suspension for an accumulation of cards will come as a blow for Xavi’s men.

Meanwhile, Torres has been in good nick in the past couple of matches and is finally starting to build some confidence and momentum. As such, missing out on a match at this juncture would not be ideal for the Spaniard, who is expected to start tonight vs Almeria.

Apart from the aforementioned quartet, Ousmane Dembele is also on four yellow cards, but is out injured at the moment. Manager Xavi Hernandez, too, has received four bookings and one more could see him serve a one-match touchline ban.
