Franck Kessie Wants To Stay At Barcelona Amid Strong Interest From Inter Milan

As the uncertainty regarding Franck Kessie’s future continues to grow, journalist Toni Juanmarti has confirmed that the midfielder is aware of the fact that Barcelona may be tempted to sell him in the summer in order to make a profit.

But the midfielder remains keen on staying put at the club despite strong interest from Inter Milan.

Kessie, who joined Barcelona last summer from Serie A side AC Milan on a free transfer, has not really established himself as a first-team regular. It is not that the midfielder has been subpar, it is just that the competition in the area has been pretty intense.

As a result, the 26-year-old has been limited to just five starts in the league. During the January transfer window, rumours regarding his exit emerged but Xavi decided to hold on to his midfielder given their presence in the UEFA Europa League.

Between the winter transfer window and the date of writing, a lot of things have changed. As of today, Barcelona are working on bringing Lionel Messi back to Spotify Camp Nou and for that, they must generate excessive income and reduce their salary mass.

Kessie, who arrived for free last year, could thus be one of the sacrificial lambs, with reports suggesting that Barça could sell him for €25-30 million.

Between February and March, Kessie proved to be quite a coup especially after the likes of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong were absent due to injuries.

But given the situation at hand, he remains their biggest cash cow. As it turns out, Inter Milan continue to show great interest and although the player would very much like to stay at Barcelona, he is aware the team might cash in on him to bring in extra income.
