Inter Milan 3-1 LAZIO | ‘Oone Of The Best Inter Matches Since I’ve Been Here’ Says Simone Inzaghi

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi feels that the team’s performance in their 3-1 win over Lazio in Serie A this afternoon was one of the best since he took over as coach.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 47-year-old hailed the Nerazzurri’s dominant display to come back from a goal down and get a huge comeback win over his former team Lazio.

When Inter went in at halftime a goal down despite having had far more of the possession and scoring chances this afternoon, they may have felt that it was a move they’d seen before.

However, the Nerazzurri hardly gave up, and they made their incessant pressure tell during the second half by scoring three times late on to pick up three precious points and draw level with Roma and AC Milan in the fourth spot in the Serie A table.

“We played one of our best matches since I’ve been here,” Inzaghi beamed after the match.

“At the end of the first half I told the team to just keep doing what they had been doing despite the fact that we were a goal down, we had also put in a great performance after the match against Juve,” he continued.

“And this was against the team who are second in the table,” the coach added, “it was a brilliant performance.”

“We needed to have motivation because it was a very important match, and we have another one on the way in just 72 hours.”

“I got a great response from everyone, the team spirit is insane,” Inzaghi praised his team.

“At the end of the first half I complimented the team, we were behind but it was totally undeserved,” the coach said.

“We just had to keep played the way we’d prepared,” he went on.

“We had to stay focused and believe in what we were doing,” the coach added.

“The substitutions were important, as were the players who started,” he said.

“We’re still behind in the table, but now we just have to keep going.”

Of Robin Gosens having to come off injured after scoring to put Inter ahead, Inzaghi updated that “He dislocated his shoulder, let’s hope we don’t lose him because he’s very important to us and he’s been doing very well ever since January, alternating with Dimarco.”

“He’s giving us a lot of intensity, I’m very happy with how he’s doing and he has to keep going.”

“I hope he doesn’t have to miss too much time, it’s a busy period in the fixture list and we need everyone available,” Inzaghi said of Gosens.
