Kaizer Chiefs Agree Deal In Principle For One Of PSL Playmaker
Kaizer Chiefs have agreed a deal in principle for one of the PSL’s finest attacking midfielders. Mduduzi Mdantsane is on his way to Naturena.
It’s a move that’s been in the pipeline for some time, but Kaizer Chiefs have edged closer to the signing of Cape Town City’s Mduduzi Mdantsane. Will he help them move up the PSL table?
MDANTSANE TO KAIZER CHIEFS IS ALL BUT
As recently reported by the ThisIsFootball publication, though, Chiefs were to set to “take a second bite at the Cape Town City star”, even as Chairman John Comitis had suggested that they were planning to offer him a long-term deal – having already triggered the one-year option – unless they receive a big offer at the right price.
Leading SABC Sport journalist Mazola Molefe reports that the two clubs have agreed to the transfer of Mdantsane, in principle, effective 1 July.
CHIEFS REBUILD HINGING ON CREATIVITY
As reported on The South African for some time, Amakhosi management have been at pains to add creative talents to the club to solve their goal-scoring woes. Mdantsane hasn’t been prolific in terms of his output of goals and assists this season, but it’s clear that Chiefs see him as the man to unlock their attacking potential.
The Glamour Boys need to sprinkle a bit of unpredictability into their work in the final third of the pitch. Mduduzi Mdantsane, like his namesake Mr Shabalala, could be two key pillars in the project.
