Manchested United’s Plans For Vacant Number 7 Shirt

Manchester United are contemplating handing their famous number seven shirt to Alejandro Garnacho.

The famous number has been out of use since Cristiano Ronaldo had his contract terminated by mutual consent back in Novemer 2022.

The Red Devils don’t tend to hand out the seven shirt on a whim, and the Manchester Evening News report that the club are weighing up whether to allow Garnacho to take it on.

Garnacho, who does not turn 19 until July 1, was first promoted into the first-team setup during the 2021/22 season, making two appearances that year.

But he announced himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest up-and-coming stars during Erik ten Hag’s first season at the helm, playing 34 games across all competitions and helping Man Utd end their six-year wait for silverware.

Garnacho made his senior Argentina debut earlier this month and his rise to stardom could continue with taking on Man Utd’s number seven shirt.

In addition to his shirt number, Garnacho has already inherited Ronaldo’s chant from the Old Trafford faithful.
