Real Madrid CEO Traveling To Germany To Negotiate With Dortmund For Jude Bellingham

Real Madrid have done half the job surrounding Jude Bellingham’s transfer. The defending European champions have the English star as their top target for the June transfer window and are best placed to sign him after the player chose them over the other options on his table.

The missing piece to the puzzle now is the agreement with Borussia Dortmund. According to reports from BILD (h/t The Madrid Zone), Los Blancos are acting swiftly on that front.

According to the German outlet, Real Madrid’s CEO and Chief Negotiator Jose Angel Sanchez is set to land in Dortmund very soon to discuss terms with the German club. Legal advisor Javier Lopez-Farre accompanies him to ease the discussions.

The 19-year-old midfielder has his heart set on a move to Madrid. Earlier this week, reports stated that he even rejected Dortmund’s renewal offer worth €14 million per season to force a move out of the club in June.

One would expect the negotiations to be fairly simple, given Bellingham’s desire to join Real Madrid. However, ups and downs are expected in the talks between the two clubs, especially considering the difference in their valuations of the player.

Dortmund are hopeful of getting upwards of €120 million from the sale of their young protege, but that number is seen as steep by the offices at Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid would be willing to offer €100-120 million for Bellingham and an agreement will depend on whether the clubs can agree on a number.

The 19-year-old has scored seven goals and provided four assists in the Bundesliga this season, and it is no surprise that Real Madrid see him as one to stay in the long term.

With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric both agreeing to renew their contracts, Carlo Ancelotti has no shortage of options in midfield for next season. However, the veterans’ renewal will reportedly have no bearing on Real Madrid’s pursuit of the English talent.
