Report: Barcelona Have Good Results On 17-Years-Old Brazilian Prodigy

Barcelona have good reports on 17-year-old Fluminense prodigy Kaua Elias and will likely continue to track him over the next year.

The Blaugrana have been tracking young talent in the South American continent with an eye on the future. They have been heavily linked with a move for Athletico Paranaense’s Vitor Roque this summer.

Argentine prodigy Gianluca Prestianni is also a target. Now, Kaua Elias of Fluminense has also emerged as a target for the Catalan giants.

Elias is a product of the Fluminense youth academy. Just 17 years of age, the centre-forward has recently broken into the club’s Under-20 setup and it is predicted that a first-team breakthrough is not very far away owing to his potential and natural abilities.

Elias is currently representing Brazil at the South American Under-17 Championships and is understood to be making quite the wave in the tournament in Ecuador.

And as per the report, the Barcelona scout present at the tournament has taken good note of the young striker.

Elias boasts a strong physicality for someone his age. The 17-year-old is right-footed but is said to be an accomplished finisher with both his feet and is believed to boast good technical abilities and a keen eye for goal.

Fluminense, who are known for nurturing young talent, see him as their next crown jewel. In fact, the report states that once the South American Under-17 Championships are over, Kaua Elias will be making a jump to the club’s first-team setup right away.

Elias will play the rest of 2023 in Brazil as he will only turn 18 years old in March next year, at which point a move to Europe could become a possibility.

For now, he will continue developing at Fluminense as Barcelona and several other European giants monitor his growth and development in Brazil.
