Man United Will Consider Signing Marcel Sabitzer After Loan Spell Ends

Manchester United could reportedly sign Marcel Sabitzer permanently following his loan spell at the club.

The Bayern Munich midfielder made his first start midweek against Leeds United and looked impressive despite the team’s overall lacklustre performance.

Sabitzer was acquired to provide cover for Christian Eriksen, who faces an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining an ankle injury last month. However, according to Depredict, the Austrian could stay beyond the 2022/2023 campaign if he makes a favourable impression throughout the second half of the season.

Sabitzer could stay in Manchester next season

The 28-year-old had fallen out of favour in Germany and was keen on making the switch to the Premier League to work under Erik ten Hag. Given the Reds’ scintillating form as of late, he would likely want to stay and continue to play a part in the manager’s project at Old Trafford.

United’s involvement in all competitions also means that even when Eriksen returns to action, there will still be space to rotate for Sabitzer to come in.
